Building Warrant submitted
Situated in the village of Cartland, this is one of four plots and the client approached us with a strict brief in terms of spatial requirements for the family of 6 and eco-credentials.
The form of the proposed dwelling is a contemporary take on the local vernacular form while the palette of traditional timber cladding, slate and metal corrugated roofing also reflects the local rural heritage.
The dwelling will be constructed with a highly insulated envelope and renewable energies resulting in an ‘off-grid’ heating and hot water system.
We found great joy in developing this house into a home that would satisfy every desire that the clients expressed to us; from the snuggle seat with views across to Glasgow and the farmland to the South, through to the sharp detailing of how the gables terminate with the roofing material beyond the façade.
