Clare assists in the design and management of projects, from inception to works on site.
Clare graduated in 2018 from Northumbria University Newcastle, with a Masters in Architecture. Her thesis explored the art of placemaking, focusing on the regeneration of North Shields’ Fish Quay. Fostering a collaborative approach, with invaluable input of the local community, Clare worked from initial research and developed through to masterplan design, and the development of individual spaces.
Following graduation, Clare spent several months immersed in Makvarket; a Danish community build project involving the conversion of an old pottery factory into a culture and ecology centre. She contributed her own experience: producing drawings for planning and funding applications, whilst gaining hands on construction experience and learning the value of sustainable living.
Clare (alongside our colleague Chiara) has spent much of 2019 immersed in a self-led research project: Imagine If, which explores private and communal housing and forming a sustainable, affordable and desirable hybrid solution. The project was developed into an interactive game and exhibition for the ArchiFringe, and the findings are informing design decisions within the LBA office.
